As Student Safety Officer of Cal Poly Space Systems I was responsible for assuring the safety of club members during all operations. To do this I researched new materials and procedures that were required for the rocket projects that year, and incorporated that knowledge into industry inspired safety documentation. I worked closely with Cal Poly Environmental Health and Safety to adjust those documents and procedures to assure compliance and most importantly, safe operations. After I had the documentation approved, I would assure the safe execution of procedures during testing and operations while watching over activities.
